Nadia Janette Marie Sherro – emanating from Egypt, was a flamboyant socialite and the daughter of an Egyptian financier. She married a distinguished Adjutant to the Commander & Chief of the Egyptian Navy and set the social scene alight. Going under the reputation of "The Sophia Loren of Alexandria", Nadia was often seen frequenting the best establishments of Egyptian high society.

In addition, Nadia Sherro was an avid jewellery collector, with many items handcrafted especially for her, and loved being adorned in exquisite jewellery and the latest fashions.

She mixed in elite circles where she was very good friends with the late Egyptian actor “Omar Sharif”, regarded as the most celebrated Egyptian actor and who starred in many great films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Dr Zhivago, Funny Girl and others.
